"It is a privilege and dream- come-true for me to grow and deliver intoxicating beauty."
- Paula Rice
Paula Rice is a professional cut flower farmer and florist providing intoxicating beauty to North Idaho for 15 years. She loves growing and playing with flowers and seeks ways to keep her passion alive and strong by finding solutions to the complexities of operating a growing and designing business in zone 4. It has been quite the education. When she’s not working the fields, you can find her walking the fields, eating raspberries, and wondering what she should make for dinner.
Sunflowers will always be popular and will never go away. They are simply a happy flower. While sunflowers aren’t the easiest flower to design into a bridal bouquet (they have heavy, nodding heads), they are bold and rich and sassy… and worth it.
This design took some time. I really wanted something that looked natural.
Every time a bride asks for sunflowers I’m happy. Dare I say…sunflowers are timeless????
Here at BeeHaven Farm we specialize in sunflowers that are sturdy, multi-petaled, and small. They are the perfect size for designing weddings.
Once I was on location, I harvested some foliage from the woods to go along with what I brought so that it would blend and look natural…somewhat, right? No one happens on a sunflowers arch in the woods.
My photography skills are getting better. All these photos I took myself after it was all set up.
Notice the larger flower on the bottom, helping to anchor the entire piece.
Adding other flowers to pull out the woodsy theme and complement the sunflowers, ties everything together and makes it work..
