"It is a privilege and dream- come-true for me to grow and deliver intoxicating beauty."
- Paula Rice
Paula Rice is a professional cut flower farmer and florist providing intoxicating beauty to North Idaho for 15 years. She loves growing and playing with flowers and seeks ways to keep her passion alive and strong by finding solutions to the complexities of operating a growing and designing business in zone 4. It has been quite the education. When she’s not working the fields, you can find her walking the fields, eating raspberries, and wondering what she should make for dinner.
I want to give you as much information as possible when it comes to planning and ordering your wedding flowers here at BeeHaven Flower Farm. Learning what our process is, perusing all the information below, and reading my three other cornerstone blog posts on wedding flowers (also referenced below), will powerhouse your knowledge and leave you feeling confident.
I know there is a lot you may not know and understand and I want you to be comfortable discussing your plans when the time comes.
BeeHaven’s Process for Booking your Wedding Flowers
Our process for ordering event flowers now starts online on our website. It begins with filling out the wedding inquiry form so that we can understand the possible scope and scale of the work involved and check our availability for your wedding date. Then… if we are available
Step 1. You will receive our Informational Brochure and Virtual Wedding Package builder. This step gives you information about how to understand and create your budget and even how much your wedding flowers will cost. You do this in the privacy of your own home before we meet face-to-face to fine-tune the details.
Step 2. If you choose to move forward into our second step, you will receive a media package to build your wedding package. You will submit this order and make an initial downpayment. This is where you will have the opportunity to schedule a time for us to meet to talk over the details and create a payment plan for you.
Receiving this order and downpayment (retainer), books you on my calendar, and enters you into our BeeHaven client journey. We meet and discuss the details and I build a plan to create and package your wedding florals.
The meeting can be in-person, via phone, or via zoom.
Two steps, that is all. Now it is my job to grow, harvest, plan, design, and execute (fulfill, not kill) your wedding flowers. We will communicate through a client portal which you will receive access to where we check in and gather details.
Our flowers are high-quality, unique, and farm-fresh.
People may come to a flower farm because they want to get the cheapest flowers. And while we are local, we are competitively priced. It takes a lot of staff, labor, and expertise to provide this level of variety all season, and growing the flowers we design, takes daily dedicated and disciplined work.
What we do is custom, and one-of-a-kind. We take pride in our work and we are masters at our craft. Our flowers are superior in variety, quality, uniqueness, and freshness.

Our process is simple, but you need to read on.
The following posts explain everything you need to know about the investment of wedding flowers, what to expect and not expect, and how to communicate just what you want.
They contain price lists, calculators, and specific examples to help you understand the full picture of event florals from BeeHaven Flower Farm.
Visit our Farm Stand: OK, you’ve looked over all the options, and ordering wedding and event flowers online is not the route you’d like to take. Maybe you’d rather shop from our bundles and seasonal availability in the farm stand.
Our newly expanded farm stand now offers a large choice of flower bundles to grab at any time. April – September. The farmstand is a walk-in cooler.
Have a Small Event? If you are looking for something special, like a small reception, dinner party, or baby shower, you can make an order and share your details with this Small Event Order & inquiry form. Leave some notes and contact information and I can give you a call or send an e-mail reply to fine-tune details.
Dinner Party on the river
FYI – When coming to a seasonal flower farm, it is important to be flexible. Though we do try to “trick” Mother Nature as much as possible, we are seasonal and do have some limits – some things just do not grow here, or it’s the wrong time of year. (If we are out of our season for your wedding date, we will order flowers in.)
For instance, peonies and tulips are spring flowers and do not grow in August. We would use a substitute like dahlias or cosmos. If you wanted peonies or tulips, we would order them.
FAQ’s
Do I get to see and pick out my flowers?
If you like, you can purchase an in-person consultation to go along with your flower order when building your Custom Wedding Package. It is best done about 2 weeks before your wedding.
I would prefer to meet with you before I build a Custom Wedding Package.
That is one of our options and we provide that choice once you have filled out the wedding inquiry so that we can double-check our availability and get some basic information. You can leave me notes in this stepif you like. When you receive the first step of our online process, you will choose the option to schedule a meeting without creating a package.
